Does the e53 have some sort of temperature sensor in the tranny? (2006 4.4i x5). I am having some issues shifting from 1st to 2nd ONLY when she first starts up. The behavior below leads me to believe it has something to do with the Transmission initializing or coming up to temp, because it shift fine after the first few starts and stops. 1.
Hi, I have 2000 E53 automatic.Recently I have notice the following fault. When I start the gear is in P (PARK). I select D, and I can feel a slight movement forwards occurring. I have my brakes on so doesn;t move. In R (reverse) selection , slight reverse movement occurs. This did not use to happen when car was perfect.

A trick you can try is cut a block of wood long enough to fit between the drivers seat and the brake pedal. Engine off the block should be placed between the drivers seat and the brake pedal push the pedal down and use the electric seat adjustment to hold it there leave it overnight .
