The biggest surprise when the XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR was released was the fact that Fujifilm chose to make it a max f/2.8 lens instead of f/2. The XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR came out as the last in a line of lenses nicknamed the Fujicrons (after Leicaβs f/2 Summicron lenses), which all have a max f/2 f-stop with similar design features and specs.
The Fuji 16-55 f/2.8 is a bit better at 5.8% at 16 mm, but it's still a lot. The reality these days is that manufacturers are emphasizing sharpness over the frame and relying on software corrections for distortion.Guess which one wins? I'm surprised by the result, but that's not the important point. Thanks to KEH for sponsoring this video!Black Friday / Cyber Monday atW1AKl.
